Zaidi Legal PC Partners with Islamic Relief Canada to Support Safe Water and Hygiene Awareness in Bangladesh
At Zaidi Legal PC, we believe that law is more than a profession—it is a platform to serve and uplift communities, both near and far. We are proud to announce our recent partnership with Islamic Relief Canada in support of their vital initiative: “Safe Water & Hygiene Awareness for the Marginalized Community.”
This impactful project was carried out in the Sunamganj and Jamalpur districts of Bangladesh, where access to clean water and basic hygiene remains a challenge for many. Our contribution directly supported efforts to:
- Improve access to clean water
- Enhance hygiene awareness and practices
- Promote community protection
- Maintain human dignity
- Reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases
Through this collaboration, we were able to make a difference in the lives of over 17,000 community members. From safe drinking water to hygiene training, the project has strengthened long-term well-being for some of Bangladesh’s most vulnerable populations.

Installation of Water Wells:
200 deep-set pumps and 200 shallow tube wells were installed, serving a total of 3,200 households.
Water points were installed in areas that are safe, secure, and easily accessible to women, children, and the elderly.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Islamic Relief Canada—a trusted humanitarian organization known for its dedication to sustainable development and dignity-driven relief work. This partnership reflects our core values: compassion, justice, and giving back.

Another critical component of the project was improving the knowledge and skills of the community regarding safe and culturally appropriate hygiene practices.
128 hygiene promotion sessions were conducted, reaching over 3,200 individuals from targeted households.
From each household, 1 person was selected to participate, with priority given to female participants.
Hygiene kits were distributed to the 3,200 households. These included items such as hand washing soap, nail cutters, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
Why It Matters
Clean water is not a luxury—it’s a basic human right. Yet millions around the world still live without reliable access to it. In areas like Sunamganj and Jamalpur, families face daily struggles due to unsafe water, poor sanitation, and a lack of awareness around hygiene. These challenges contribute to illness, missed school and work, and a diminished quality of life.
Through this project, we helped build a safer, healthier future for these communities—especially for women, children, and the elderly who are often disproportionately affected by water crises.
Case Study Provided by Islamic Relief Canada:
Md. Muntaz Ali is from East Pailing Village in Kulkandi Union, where his family, like many others, lost their home and land to the Jumuna river. As a result, they have been forced to seek refuge in the embankment area every flood season.

Muntaz Ali’s family of 5 needs about fifteen liters of water each day to meet their basic needs. However, the nearest water source is a quarter of a kilometer away, and fetching it often falls on to the women of the household. His daughter-in-law, along with many other women in the village—including pregnant women—must endure the strenuous daily task of carrying heavy loads of water.
During the rainy season, water from the canal is sufficient for household tasks, including bathing, washing clothes, and cleaning dishes. However, in the dry season, the canal dries up, leaving behind polluted water. With no alternative, the 12-15 families of East Pailing are left with no choice but to use this water, putting their health at risk.

Thanks to our contribution, a tube well has been installed in their village, providing a reliable source of safe drinking water all year round.
This simple yet transformative addition has brought immense joy and a sense of security to these families. They no longer need to endure long, exhausting trips to fetch water or risk their health using polluted water. The community also received training in hygiene promotion and tube well repair and maintenance, ensuring they can sustain this vital resource for years to come.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow as a legal practice, we remain committed to using our platform and resources for good. Whether it’s helping families plan their futures here at home or standing in solidarity with communities around the world, Zaidi Legal PC is driven by a vision of justice that transcends borders.
We thank our clients, partners, and team members for making this contribution possible. Together, we are not just practicing law—we are building a legacy of service and impact.
